Scratch disk

STEP ONE

Create a new folder in the Macintosh HD device. This is where the scratch disk will go.

STEP TWO

Go to System Settings on Final cut pro. 

  

Then on the Waveform Cache click on the button next to it called 'Set...' 

Select the folder you created earlier in the Macintosh HD device and click 'Choose'

Do this for the Thumbnail Cache and Autosave Vault as well.

STEP THREE

When uploading images from an SD card or Memory stick save them in the scratch disk file you made earlier.

When uploading this files click on Files -> Import -> Files and select the files you wish to use.

Remember to save the finished project in the scratch folder you created as well.
